I do not think that texting makes us bad writers, I personally think it can enhance it and make us all become more creative with the way we write. In todays society more people communicate through texting , texting is writing what you are wanting to speak. I think that texting makes each and every one of us creative with the way we write and the words that we come up with. We write what we would speak to someone therefore it makes more sense and it would be easier to understand. Texting is not writing its a new way of language because its always evolving and texting is todays society's language.
But I also think that texting can make us bad writers mainly because when we text people we tend to shorten words like for example: LOL means laughing out loud, and 2nite means tonight, wat means what, ok or k means okay, and so on and so forth. But sometimes people will abbreviate the word to where you cannot understand what they are trying to say. Because we use abbreviations like that we tend to use them all the time, it makes it faster to type. But the down fall on that is when it is time to write an essay that was assigned to us, we don't think about it and most of us do write like we text. I know that texting with abbreviations can take a toll on writing essays because I have used them before but luckily I caught myself. But I do not think abbreviations are a bad thing, I think that is what really makes our texting creative and unique.
